Senior Tax & Accounting Specialist, Full-Time

Applicants for the position should have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed CPA
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in tax preparation and review with extensive prior work in partnership and corporate taxation
  • Significant face-to-face experience working with clients
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise team members
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Working knowledge of computerized tax and accounting applications
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite and QuickBooks software a significant plus

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Taxation:

  • Supervision and preparation of business and individual federal, state and local income tax returns
  • Year end tax planning for individuals and businesses
  • Research tax topics relating to specific client issues utilizing the firm's research materials including web-based research sources.

Accounting and Auditing:

  • Supervision and preparation of financial statements utilizing various accounting software programs
  • Perform auditing procedures on various entities
  • Frequent interaction with team members and clients

Administrative:

  • Client engagement management
  • Staff management
  • Billing and collection matters

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Working knowledge of computerized tax and accounting programs a plus
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
  • Experience with UltraTax and QuickBooks software a significant plus

Tax & Accounting Intern, (January - April, 2020)

 

Applicants for the position should have the following qualifications:
1.) An accounting major currently in their senior year or higher
2.) Available at least 24 hours per week
3.) Successfully completed an individual taxation course
 
 Primary job responsibilities:
1.) Prepare federal, state and local individual income tax returns. The complexity of these returns will increase as the individual gains experience. On the job training is provided.
2.) Assist staff accountants with the preparation of business income tax returns, including the preparation of work papers, updating of depreciation schedules, and other related tasks.
3.) Research tax topics relating to specific client issues by utilizing the firm’s research materials including web based research sources.
4.) Prepare year-end informational forms (Form 1099, etc.)
5.) Assist in the preparation of financial statements utilizing various accounting software programs.
6.) Assist accountants with audit engagements.
