Job Description 
Applicants for the position should have the following qualifications: 
1.) High school diploma or equivalent 
2.) 2-5 years of relevant experience 
3.) Good organizational skills 
4.) Strong interpersonal skills 
5.) Ability to work independently and as a team member 
6.) Working knowledge of CPA firm practice management software a plus 
7.) Proficient with Excel and Word 
8.) Experience with Thomson Reuters and QuickBooks software a significant plus 

Skills 
Primary Job Responsibilities: 

Clerical: 
1.) Assembly of business and individual income tax returns 
2.) Document scanning into digital filing system 
3.) Coordination of mail distribution procedures 
4.) General word processing and spreadsheet assignments 
5.) Preparation of client invoices and related procedures 
6.) Corporate website and social media administration 
7.) Coordination of account implementation and maintenance for financial planning clients 
8.) Occasional telephone operator and receptionist duties 

Recordkeeping and Other: 
1.) Oversee maintenance and custodial operations 
2.) Preparation of bank deposits 
3.) Maintenance of accounts payable files 
4.) Coordination of electronic filing of tax returns 
5.) Interaction with trade vendors as required 
6.) Coordination and scheduling of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses for professional staff

Tax & Accounting Intern (date posted: November 9, 2017)

 

Applicants for the position should have the following qualifications:

1) An accounting major currently in their junior year or higher
2) Available at least 24hour per week
3) Successfully completed an individual taxation course

Primary job responsibilities:

1) Prepare federal, state, and local individual income tax returns. The complexity of these returns will increase as individual gains experience. On the job training is provided.
2) Assist staff accountants with the preparation of business income tax returns, including the preparation of work papers, updating of depreciation schedules, and other related tasks.
3) Research tax topics relating to specific client issues by utilizing the firm's research materialsincluding web based sources.
4)Prepare year end informational forms (Form 1099, etc.)
5) Assist in the preparation of financial statements utilizing various accounting software programs
6) Assist accountants with audit engagements.
